Co-operative Education

Co-op at Guelph offers you exceptional job and experiential learning opportunities. With over 3,000 co-op students, U of G has one of the highest student enrolment in co-op among Ontario universities. 

Guelph Co-op is Unique

  • COOP*1100: a mandatory one-semester course that prepares you for the job search and work terms,
  • Co-op Co-ordinators and Co-op Faculty Advisors, who will assist you personally during the employment process and throughout work-terms,
  • Senior peer helper students, to mentor you throughout the co-op process,
  • Student Advisory Committee (SAC) that represents the interests of all co-op students.

Program Details

  • You will complete three to five work terms throughout your degree (depending on your academic program).
  • All co-op positions are full-time paid employment opportunities.
  • You will experience Fall, Winter and Summer work-terms.
  • Job opportunities are across Ontario, and in some cases, out-of-province or international, in the private, public and not-for-profict sectors.

*Co-op admission is a popular choice. It is highly recommended that you apply to co-op directly from high school. You may apply in your first year, but there will be a limited number of spots in each program.
