How to Build Your Best Degree
Step 1: Find your program.
With more than 80 majors, 61 minors, certificates, areas of emphasis, electives, and more than 1,000 ways to learn outside of the classroom, we know it can seem overwhelming! So let's break it down.
- Review the degree programs and themes. Check out the prerequisites. Find what interests you.
- Talk to U of G reps, visit our campus and tour our classrooms and labs, talk to faculty and students. You'll be surprised how quickly multiple options turn into a few programs - or maybe ONE program - that stands out.
Step 2: Enhance and Explore.
Add a minor, select an area of emphasis, or enrol in a certificate alongside your degree. You can even enrol in Distance Ed (DE) courses that allow you to study at a time and place that's convenient for you. And you know what? You don't have to figure it out in first year. Spend your first year exploring the options available to you. You'll be surprised what opens up once you're here.
Step 3: Put it All into Action!
You have countless opportunities to put your classroom theory into real-world practice. Whether it's through co-operative education or experiential learning (or both), at U of G you have lots of choice! Study overseas for a semester and take your learning beyond our borders. We'll help you navigate your options so you can find the best fit for you. Your program counsellors, academic advisors, professors, and teaching assistants are all here to help you find your way. We'll do it together.
