What attracted you to the University of Guelph?

I was attracted to the flexibility of the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences program that enabled me to integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines.

What attracted you to your program at U of G?

I wanted to have the freedom to pursue my own interests and to work with other students on how to better communicate between the sciences and society as a whole.

What is something COOL that you’ve learned from your program/studies so far?

That everyone is fascinated by the brain, and that you can apply knowledge of Neuroscience to any facet of human life. Human beings are so complex!

What has been (or is) your favorite course in your program?

My third year independent research project with Dr. Sofie Lachapelle on the medical community in the 1800s and their interactions with matters of the unseen, including demonic possession, Marian apparitions, and stigmata!

What are you most excited about this year?

I am most excited about running "Combining Two Cultures", the Canadian Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Conference in January here at the University of Guelph.

What are your (current) post-graduate plans, or goals?

My most immediate goal is to live in Iceland for at least a year and study Icelandic history and language at the University of Iceland (my family is Icelandic Canadian.)

Best piece of advice you wish you could have given yourself in Grade 12.

That it is much better to choose where you will spend the next four years of your life out of excitement (even if it means moving across the country), than to stay rooted out of fear.

#FunFact About Yourself.

I was in Germany working on a research project called Fiction Meets Science this summer, and visited 6 countries over all! Ask me about the case of Pluto’s demotion from planet to dwarf planet – I know far too much about that case!
