Coolest thing about your program?

The Biological Science major is extremely flexible; we get to try out courses in all areas of biology without the pressure to specialize! Our diverse course path includes everything from evolution to molecular genetics to physiology.

What prompted you to become a tour guide?

Two of my favourite things are the University of Guelph and talking to people, so I jumped at the chance to talk to prospective students and their families about the University! We also have a beautiful campus, so it’s great to have an excuse to walk around and appreciate it all the time.

What is the best thing you’ve experienced while being a tour guide? Or, what is your favourite thing about being a tour guide?

My favourite moment on any tour is when passing students chime in and validate whatever I’m saying to my tour group; it really highlights the friendly character of the University of Guelph community!

BEST spot on campus? Why?

For me, that’s absolutely the science complex atrium! I love to go study in there; there’s lots of natural light, comfy couches, and caffeine (there’s a Second Cup right in the atrium!). There’s also a neat structure right in the middle of it that you’ll have to come visit to discover. Overall it’s a really beautiful, thoughtfully-designed spot that’s great for science and non-science students alike.

Why should students come for a tour?

Touring the campus is the only way to really experience what it feels like to come study at the University of Guelph; there’s lots of unique sights to discover in person that you won’t find in your Viewbook!

Any advice to incoming students (or their families)?

There’s no such thing as a dumb question! Ask us anything you can think of because we’ve all been there.
