Places to Live and Commuting

Places to Live

First year, first day, first warm smiles - the welcome starts the minute you choose U of G.

With over 5,000 students in our single and family residences, U of G has one of the largest and most well-established university housing systems in Canada. As a transfer student, you can apply for on-campus accommodation online through Student Housing Services.

If you're wishing to live in Residence, your Residence application and deposit must be submitted online no later than 11:59pm EST on June 1.

Student Housing Services also offers help with finding off-campus housing. Listings of available off-campus accommodations can be found online through Off-Campus Living.

Commuting

Go Transit buses connect to the University Centre from the Greater Toronto Area and Mississauga hourly.

GO offers express routes between U of G and Square One in Mississauga and the Cooksville GO Station. It has also extended its Highway 407 express bus route that serves its Meadowvale and Bramalea GO Stations and York University.

The city of Guelph transit system is available to all U of G students, simply by showing the bus driver your bus pass sticker on your valid Campus Card  – your student fees include a city bus pass! You will pick up your bus pass sticker in the first week of classes.
