"I have been lucky to make great connections with mentors here who enable me to explore my passion for research in the field of parasitology. Last summer I worked with veterinary parasitologist Dr Andrew Peregrine, and our research was focused on determining the prevalence of the fox tapeworm and other intestinal parasites, in dogs visiting off-leash dog parks in southern Ontario. The hands-on experience of identifying para-sites under the microscope will be helpful to me this summer when I travel to Nepal as part of the Global Vets program to work closely with experienced veterinarians identifying common intestinal parasites endemic to cats and dogs in this region."

With a rich history and small size (133,000 people), Guelph offers the perfect blend of major city vibes and a tightly-knit small town. We’re only an hour’s drive from Toronto and the GTA. GO commuter trains offer easy access. But make no mistake: Guelph is no suburb. It’s a vibrant and diverse city that embraces U of G students.
