Dear Future Gryphon,

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Guelph! You are about to become part of a long line of proud Gryphons who are improving life every day.

You will have faced many challenges over the past few weeks and dealt with uncertainty as you navigated life during COVID-19. Your determination and your accomplishments have taken you far and prepared you for this exciting next step in your academic career.

Now, you are likely wondering what our plan is for the fall semester. What can you expect next?

The health and safety of our community must come first, so as we make plans for the fall, we will continue to follow advice from public health and government guidelines. We assure you that this fall we will be ready to deliver high-quality courses, innovative programs and enriched student experiences, including co-op and research opportunities. We will need to adapt. Course delivery this fall could be face-to-face, blended learning or alternative delivery formats. But whatever the method, our commitment to you, our students, will stay the same. We have a long history of offering courses through a variety of formats, so we will be ready for September. As soon as we have answers, we’ll share them with you.

Most important, we are excited to welcome you. We promise you that this fall you will have the opportunity to begin your studies and start working toward your University of Guelph degree. You will meet new friends and have many new experiences and opportunities. Throughout it all, you will be part of our Gryphon Family, which means you will be supported every step of the way as you push yourself to expand your knowledge, build your potential and improve life.

Keep an eye on our websites and your email inbox in the weeks ahead for updates from the University as we finalize plans for the fall semester. We are grateful for your patience as we plan for an exciting beginning to your studies.

If you have questions about life as a first-year student, you can find information, resources and supports at starting on May 1, and on our Student Experience website.

We hope you’re excited to start your journey as a University of Guelph Gryphon. We’re proud to be part of your story.
