Facts About the Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management Degree!

Our Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management (BBRM) program is uniquely designed for students who are committed to renewable resource management in the urban, regional or rural sectors. It is the first of its kind in Canada and offers 3 majors: Environmental Management, Equine Management, and Food Industry Management.

Make a Difference
You will learn how to make a positive impact on the world whether you decide to focus on the environment, equine management or the food industry. All bio-resource management courses focus on the responsible use of the natural environment, animals and plants for both traditional and new applications.
Experiential Learning
The 3 majors all have opportunities for you to get hands-on experience to prepare you to succeed in your future careers. These experiences include co-ops, clubs, labs, field courses, applied research and much more!
Unique Perspective
The degree is the first of its kind in Canada, and both Equine Management and Food Industry Management are unique to the University of Guelph. This means that you will be entering the workforce with a unique perspective and specialization which can help you to stand out and succeed!
A Special Community
In the BBRM program you will be a part of a tight-knit community with many opportunities to get involved and connect with your peers. Some examples include Equestrian Club, Guelph Wildlife Club and the Outdoors Club. You can also join the BBRM Student Council where you will work with fellow students making decisions to enhance the program for the future.
As a BBRM student you will also be part of the Ontario Agriculture College (OAC); the founding College at the University of Guelph! OAC comprises more than 40% of the research funding at the University of Guelph – more than $50 million annually – which means students have access to numerous research opportunities and outstanding faculty!
