Fact Fridays – Episode 7: Student Profile Form Info

Posted: Thursday, January 11, 2018 - 10:58

Haven’t submitted your Student Profile Form (SPF) yet? What’s stopping you?! In this edition of Fact Fridays, we’ll tell you exactly what you need to know about this valuable addition to your U of G application!

Fact #1: You Get One Shot

You can only fill out and submit the SPF once, so be sure to preview it and take time to craft your answers before officially submitting it. Be sure to spell check all of your responses!

Fact #2: Get Your References Ready

The last section of the SPF is where you provide references that can be contacted to verify the information you provide on the SPF. You’ll need one school reference (i.e. a teacher, guidance counsellor or principal), and one community reference (i.e. a coach, mentor, etc.).

Fact #3: Know Your Numbers

Your OUAC ID (11 digits) and your University of Guelph ID (7 digits) are both required on the form.

Not sure where to find them? They’ll be in the email that you received after you applied to U of G!

Fact #4: Tell us the Good, Bad and Anything Else You Think We Should Know

When we review the SPF’s during the final round of offers, we’ll be looking to see what sets you apart from other applicants – volunteer info, extra-curricular interests and activities, awards and honours are all great things to include.

There is also room to include additional information on circumstances that may have impacted your academic performance. This is the section you want to pay close attention to if your admission average falls slightly below our recommended cut-off range.

Fact #5: Our May 1st Deadline is Firm

Unfortunately, we will not be able to process any SPF’s after the May 1, 2018 (in fact, the form will disappear after May 1!).

Now go forth and submit your SPF forms Future Gryphons!
