Community College-Minimum Requirements for Consideration

The University welcomes applications from college students who have completed a minimum of one year of study in appropriate two and three year community college programs. Minimum admission requirements vary by program (see below).  In addition to presenting the minimum cumulative average from post-secondary studies, applicants must also present the required high school prerequisites, or equivalents

Transfer Credits: Transfer credits are assessed upon admission and are typically outlined in an offer letter.  Normally, applicants who have completed a two year college diploma can receive up to 5.0 credits (1 year), while applicants who have completed a three year college diploma program can receive up to 10.0 credits (2 years).  Transfer credits will vary depending on the degree program and specialization you have been admitted into.

Note: Admission averages listed below are based on the University of Guelph grading system. We will evaluate other grading systems on an individual basis upon receipt of an official transcript

University Minimum Requirements for Consideration

University transfer students are considered for all undergraduate programs. If you have completed a minimum of 2.0 credits (one semester) of study in a degree program, you will be considered for admission to all entry points within available programs. Those with less than 2.0 completed credits are typically considered for Fall entry only.  Minimum admission requirements vary by program (see below).  In addition to presenting the minimum cumulative average from post-secondary studies, applicants must also present the required high school prerequisites, or equivalents.

Applicants should present the required prerequisites from high school curriculum, or equivalents: English, Math and Biology. Note: Chemistry is also required for Applied Human Nutrition.
Bachelor of Arts 70% 65% There is no direct entry to the Criminal Justice and Public Policy specialization.
Bachelor of Arts & Science 75% Cumulative average of 70% or two consecutive semesters of full-time studies immediately prior to the semester applied for with a minimum average of 70% in each semester. In addition, all course attempts in at least two of the pure math and science (ie. BIOL, CHEM, PHYS, MATH) at the university level must have minimum averages of 60%.
Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management 75% 65% In addition to the minimum cumulative average, applicants must also present the required prerequisites from high school curriculum, or equivalents: English and Biology for Environmental Management and Equine Management. Applicants to Food Industry Management must present English, Biology, Chemistry and an appropriate Math (e.g. Pre-Calculus), or equivalents.
Bachelor of Commerce 75% 70% All B.Comm majors require a pre-calculus course. Applicants to Accounting, Management, Management Economics and Finance, Real Estate and Housing, Marketing Management, Sport and Event Management or Food & Agricultural Business must also present a second high school or equivalent math. 
Bachelor of Computing 75% 70% In addition, applicants must present the appropriate math course from high school curriculum (e.g. Calculus, or equivalent).
Bachelor of Engineering 75% 65% All university courses attempted in the disciplines of mathematics, engineering, and the sciences must have a minimum average of 70%.
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Applicants are considered on the basis of academic performance and an evaluation of a Background Information Form (BIF). Applicants are considered on the basis of academic performance and an evaluation of a Background Information Form (BIF). Applicants should present the required prerequisites of English from high school curriculum. Admission to this program is competitive.
