Open the door to a professional career in the world's largest, fastest-growing industry: hospitality. Guelph's Hotel and Food Administration (HAFA) major prepares you to work in leadership and managerial positions in the hospitality field, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, convention centres, food services and related industries. You will graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a designation that expands your career possibilities even further; you'll gain skills not just in hotel operations, food production and food service systems but also in human resources management, marketing, accounting and communications. You will focus on experiential learning where theory is balanced with practice. You can participate in learning opportunities outside the classroom, such as creating your own independent study courses, managing a student-run restaurant, participating in a semester exchange, and attending networking events. Those who pursue the Co-op options will participate in a paid one-year work term, either in Canada or abroad.
